Class 4 Chemical Test
Class 4 and 6 chemical indicators are placed inside packages or devices to monitor sterilization processes and should only be used for solid and porous objects. These indicators only provide information about the sterility of the packages at the points in the sterilizer where they are placed.
It is recommended to place these indicators in the innermost part of the packages where the sterilizing agent has difficulty penetrating. Due to the long response time of biological indicators (at least 2 days), chemical indicators are used in the daily control of sterilization processes.
The advantage of such indicators is their short response time, and therefore, after this process, the correct operation of the device can be immediately ensured. Class 4, 5, and 6 chemical indicators have different functions.
Color Change
After the sterilization cycle, the indicator changes color from blue to black.
